Rules of the game

Goal

To have as few losses as possible after the agreed number of rounds. Whoever collects the most buys the round.

Setup

Enter at least two players and pick the number of rounds (1–20). Three to five rounds is about right for one sitting.

A turn

  1. The player rolls two dice so that nobody else can see them.
  2. They call a value — either the truth or a bluff. It has to be higher than what the player before them called.
  3. The next player decides: Believe (they then have to roll and call even higher), or Don’t believe (the dice are revealed).

Ranking (from lowest to highest)

  • Ordinary rolls: 31, 32, 41, 42, 43, 51, 52, 53, 54, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65
  • Doubles: 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66
  • Macháček (2+1) — beats everything, can’t be outrolled or called as a bluff

Calling a bluff (Don’t believe)

  • The previous player lied (the real roll is lower than the call) → they drink.
  • The previous player told the truth (the real roll ≥ the call) → the one who called the bluff drinks.

A Macháček is rolled

Macháček is the highest roll and can’t be beaten. That is why it can’t be called — when you roll it, the game spots it by itself and everyone else drinks.

When you have nothing to call

If the previous player called the highest possible double, 66 (Two sixes), and you don’t roll a Macháček, nothing higher can be called — the round ends and you drink.

End of a round and of the game

The loser of the round drinks. The next round is always started by the next player in order — regardless of who lost. After the last round the player with the fewest losses wins; most losses = buys the round. In a tie the losers drink together.

A few tips

  • Your real roll is shown in green among the calls and always first in the list.
  • You can bluff by a little (harder to call) or by a lot (higher risk).
  • When the previous call is close to 66, remember you roll a Macháček barely once in 18.
